UP IN THE WIDE BLUE YONDER
Children are always certain
Someone has forgotten
To give them wings,
And that one day,
Wings will suddenly sprout
Out of their shoulder blades,
With enough feathers
For an entire flock of eagles.
Childhood has long since gone
But I am still waiting.

Just lovely. As a child, sometimes when it was windy, I would stand in the middle of the road outside my house, arms outstretched, certain that any moment my feet will leave the ground. I still do that sometimes when no one is watching. This poem just perfectly encapsulates that experience for me. Thank you.

So glad you liked it. I think the world must be full of little children just waiting to
fly and trying to help the process along! Thank youf or your nice comment.
Gwen.

Oh this is so heartfelt and beautiful, every child does feel like that, even now I wonder and so wish this to be true someday😊❤️
