BREAK-OUT
Longing for freedom,
We fly always
Too close to the sun,
Poor things
That we are.
Yet courageous.
For although we forever mistake
Our glittering fancies
For the gleam of freedom,
We carry on.
Often disappointed
To find we are still tethered
To our dreams.
Slowly learning
We can only lose ourselves
In love.

Beautiful poem with a lot of subtlety. i invite you to submit some of your works to The Chamber Magazine, if you are so inclined. You can find it at https://thechambermagazine.com/.

I’m glad you like the poem. It was kind of you to let me know. It was also kind of you to
invite me to submit to The Chamber magazine. I was very impressed with it, covering so much
of human experience but, I think my poems would leave your readers deeply dissatisfied.
Thank you. anyway.
Gwen.
